COVID-19 Update

Good Morning Church Family,

Wanted to give you all a quick update on our church services in light of continued concerns over the Corona virus. We do plan to meet tomorrow, Sunday March 22 for Sunday School and Worship Service. All persons attending are requested to observe recommended safety precautions to include social distancing. Please see attached for more details. After tomorrow’s service, all church services will be canceled until further notice.

If you need assistance during this time, please don’t hesitate to contact me (rogersmark@ec.rr.com / Mobile:910-604-2658) or your Deacon. If you don’t know who your Deacon is, please contact our Chairman of Deacons, Glen Tyndall (gttyndalljr@gmail.com / Mobile: 252-671-4230/Home: 252-249-0606).

In the coming days, we plan to maintain communications with you in three primary ways: 1) email, 2) phone/text, and our church website (www.orientalfirstbaptist.com).

We are exploring the possibility of video recording a worship service that church members will be able to access from home via the internet. We will keep you informed on this.

Please, as you may be able, continue to contribute financially to the church. We as a church support ministries in our area that help people who are in need, so we wouldn’t want these worthy efforts to go lacking. Linda Caroon has said that if you would prefer to pre-date and send multiple offering checks ahead of time, she will wait to deposit them until that date.

Offerings can be mailed to the following address:

Oriental First Baptist Church
PO Box 313
Oriental, NC 28571

As is currently the case, the church sanctuary will continue to remain open 24/7 for drop in prayer.

During these difficult times would we remember the words of Jesus when he said,

“ Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)

Our God is with us, and will not forsake us. Please be safe. We look forward to getting back together as a church body after this crisis has passed by. In the meantime, let’s stay connected with our God, and with one another, to the maximum extent possible.

Mark Rogers
